My mom was a monster flick fanatic, and some of my earliest memories are sitting around with her on Saturday afternoons, cutting cinnamon rolls with string and watching Commander USA’s Groovie Movies. The first thing I remember seeing on TV - technically - was a Campbell’s Soup commercial, but the second was “The Beast Within”. The next was Flash Gordon. (You tell me, what is scarier than that??)

I’ve always enjoyed horror films. Sometimes, it’s their sheer kookiness (a la Cat People) and other times the stories suck you right in (Carrie or The Night Tide). My tastes are very eclectic, but that will help me bring you “the best of the worst” and “the worst of the best”.

So, despite not having a cigar, or any hand puppet friends, welcome to my blog … “keep your nose in the wind”.
